G2 appoints new CEO for Europe, Middle East & Africa

G2 Worldwide, Grey Global Group’s network of specialized marketing services in direct marketing, branding and design, interactive, promotional, trade and shopper marketing, announced today that Peter Thompson has been promoted to CEO for G2 in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Thompson will report to Joe Celia, G2 Worldwide’s Chairman & CEO, and work with G2’s global management team to drive growth for the agency network throughout this region.
Thompson, who with Partner and Managing Director Nick Spindler has led Joshua G2 since its inception, will assume the new role effective immediately. Spindler will take on Thompson’s previous duties as the new head of the London-based agency. Under Thompson’s leadership, Joshua G2 has become one of the top marketing services agencies in the UK market, frequently named the number one integrated agency in the UK, and has received many top industry accolades over the past decade. Most recently, in 2006, Joshua G2 was awarded ‘Agency of the Year’ by the Marketing Communications Consultants Association.

Thompson, a renowned industry pioneer, founded his own agency, the direct forerunner of Joshua G2, over 20 years ago. Since joining G2 his career has been devoted to the development of total communications programs using a multi-disciplinary approach to deliver solutions for clients’ brands. Thompson’s promotion is concurrent with the recent appointment of his predecessor, John Lynn, to Chief Executive Officer of Grey Global Group, Spain.
