Clemmow Hornby Inge announces partnership with WPP
18 April, 2007
CHI is delighted to announce that it has entered into a partnership with WPP.
For London-based CHI, the partnership means access to media muscle and expertise through GroupM's global network making the company truly full service. It also provides the necessary channels/environment to develop their distinct model internationally in support of their expanding client base.
The agency, which plans to amalgamate its various disciplines into one single company, will operate independently within WPP, maintaining its strong identity. This move by CHI will bring together specialists in advertising, brand planning and strategy, direct marketing and digital, and design and identity.
Founder partner Johnny Hornby said, "Two great things happen as a result of this partnership with WPP. We can now fully support our clients both internationally and by becoming a new model full service agency. In so doing we have secured the long-term independence and security of CHI for the benefit of everyone in the business. WPP has undoubtedly the best array of digital and media buying talent and clout in the world and to be in partnership with them is a wonderful opportunity."
CHI's roster of clients includes Argos, British Gas, Britvic, Carphone Warehouse, COI, Friends of the Earth, Lexus, Premier Foods, Prince's Trust, RBS, The Telegraph Group and Toyota.
Commenting on the initiative, WPP CEO Martin Sorrell said, "We're delighted to form a partnership with CHI. We have admired Johnny Hornby, Simon Clemmow, Charles Inge, Simon Hall, Warren Moore and their colleagues for many years. We think that the proposed structure gives CHI the chance to capitalise on WPP's resources, whilst maintaining its independence."
