Burson-Marsteller completed the acquisition of Merit Communications in 1999 after becoming a 25% equity holder in 1996. Merit/Burson-Marsteller has handled major global programs from Korea including the global PR programs for the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the Korean 2002 World Cup bid. Merit/Burson-Marsteller and the Burson-Marsteller global network also implemented an international programs for many government agencies. Merit/Burson-Marsteller currently works with major multinationals operating in Korea as well as with Korean clients in need of global communications counsel. The firm has an in-house design capability for production of English and Korean-language collateral materials.
