his has been another important and challenging year for the Compensation Committee with several key aspects of Group-wide compensation having been addressed. At all times, the committee is focused on the need for policies that enable the Company to recruit, retain and incentivise the talented people upon whom its success depends. The committee's primary responsibility is to maintain competitive levels of compensation and to reward those who make the greatest contribution to WPP's continued success. In less certain times, there is added emphasis on increasing the recognition given to our most capable individuals and to those who possess the skills to make the greatest contribution.
